Vernacular Architecture Newsletter (VAN)

The Vernacular Architecture Newsletter keeps members of the Vernacular Architecture Forum informed about upcoming events, project and grant offerings, new publications, related meetings and conferences, and job openings. Published quarterly, each VAN also contains new contributions to a bibliography relating to vernacular architecture.

The deadlines for submitting news items such as announcements, calls for papers, queries, opportunities, and exhibit reviews are the first of the month in March, June, September, and December. Send these materials to the VAN Editor at marvin_brown@urscorp.com or Marvin Brown, Senior Architectural Historian, URS Corporation-North Carolina, Morrisville, NC 27560.

The VAN invites features of no more than ten pages, double-spaced. For information or to submit an essay, please contact the Features Editor at whofstra@su.edu or Warren Hofstra, Department of History, 1460 University Drive, Shenandoah University, Winchester, VA 22601.
